Mug Shots - July 4, 2009

Happy 4th of July! Enjoy! We've decided that their "baby names" will be fast cars. So meet, Austin Healy, Jaguar & Aston Martin (row 1), Ferrari, Lotus & Maserati (row 2), Alpha Romeo, Porsche & Rolls Royce (row 3). These names won't last but are better than just calling them by their colors.

Box Fulla Fun or More Fun Than a Box of Rocks

They're getting so big that I'm that as the Taco Bell Chihuahua says "Eye theenk Eye need a beeger box". The pups get moved to this box with a heating pad while I clean the whelping box and give them a clean bed, but they're rapidly outgrowing Algebra I. Maybe it's time for Physics? :>) (since I work for textbook publisher most of the boxes I have are from books. Active Physics has more books and so a "beeger box."

Spots on Order

As the pups get closer and closer to the two week mark, their spotting is becoming more and more apparent. This morning's photos show what I'm beginning to see.

Toe Nails!

Today was toe nail day. Nine more pups means SEVENTY TWO more nails to trim... and those little suckers are SHARP! Pekoe's belly is getting a bit scratched up so it was time for a trim. Some of these little guys are as bad or worse than some of the big dogs! (but then Pekoe is no angel about getting her nails done!

We have more company yesterday. Ryan Davis and his grandmother Ronnie Coppola stopped by. Ronnie owns Diva, who is Pekoe's cousin. Here's a memento of their visit.

Breakfast in Bed

Enjoy!

We're Back

Sorry for a couple of days with no postings. Some work travel was required and then some catch up from being gone. The pups are doing extremely well; growing like crazy. Spotting is starting to come up and it looks like this will be a very pretty litter. I was not able to get the updated "mug shots" done due to lack of an assistant but will try to get that up today or tomorrow. Eye trim is complete on all pups and the noses are filling in nicely. One of the liver girls may keep some pink to her nose, but that's hard to say right now.

Week 2!

Hard to believe that they're a week old already! Before we know it, they'll be going to their new homes. Everyone is over a pound now. For some, that's a doubling in size! Spotting is starting to show. Eye trim is complete on all pups and noses are filling. Later this week, I'll do another face montage. I expect that we'll see eyes open this week as well. I've put better ribbons on the pups so that they can be easily identified in group photos.

The b/w patch boy is "naked." Yellow, purple, tan and orange are the liver girls. Dark green is the b/w boy and brown and light green are the liver boys.

A Baby Monitor Does The Trick!

Slept in my own bed for the first time in almost a week. Only had to get up one time and got to sleep until 7:30! I put a baby monitor in the puppy room and the receiver in my bedroom. The ceiling fan in there sounds like an old prop airplane preparing to take off, but the puppy murmurings are easily heard. I woke up at 3:30 to some puppy noises and let Pekoe out. She wasn't asking, but I figured, since I was up.... what the heck. More company due today.
