Growing, growing, growing

The pups have spent their first time with a dog sitter. We had a family funeral to attend in Tucson so "Aunt Kathy" (formerly of photographer fame) has come to house sit with the kids. After the first night of "singing" all night, the pups have settled in well and are adjusting well their new schedule.

Pekoe had been sleeping in with me since Monday but has returned to sleeping on the couch in the family room with the pups. This morning she pushed her way back into the puppy pen and started to nurse them again. Their food consumption has nearly doubled since I fenced Pekoe out of the puppy pen. They're eating 3x/day now about 3 cups of "puppy goo" each meal. Fortunately, this seems to be a pretty smart bunch and most is going into their stomachs and not being "worn" as with some past litters.

Computer Woes --> 5 week photos

I had intended to post these to the website where they are a bit easier to view, but when the IT guys re-did my laptop, they screwed up several software applications including FrontPage and whatever program lets me download photos from my camera (not to mention whatever program used to play my VOIP voicemail messages via the computer). They caused more problems and still didn't manage to fix the one that the computer was sent back for! So, here they are - again in birth order. PLeeeeeease keep in mind that they're only 5 weeks old and that this was the first time they'd been stacked (except for Alpha Romeo who had one other experience!) :>)

Mine, mine, mine....

As a reward for being separated from her children, Pekoe was given a rawhide bone this morning. Apparently, as you can see in the attached video clip, Lotus believes that it should be shared! They're turning into little dogs so very quickly. Last night they learned to drink from a bucket (after using it for a wading pool!)

Apologies

My apologies for a week of no posting. Between travel to SC for dog shows and then losing Paul's father unexpectedly, it's been a H**L of a week. We did get formal stack photos shot of the pups yesterday and as soon as I get them cropped and resized they'll be up - by noon tomorrow, I PROMISE! In the meantime, the pups and their pool, have moved into the family room where they're right in the swing of things. One by one they're meeting the other dogs. Pekoe was cut off from them yesterday AM and they are now completely on puppy goo - no mother's milk. Pekoe (grudgingly) slept in with me last night and will do so again tomorrow. I leave for Tucson on Thursday morning and "Aunt" Kathy has graciously agreed to come baby sit. It's going to be a long weekend.
